vroomheid: Hussein Chalayan spring / summer 1998 2001 (minus 3) This exhibition was shown in an old railway station, the Stazione Leopolda. The curator Terry Jones selected 22 designers representing Fashion’s avant garde to contribute their talents to a vision of fashion’s relationship with film. The Leopolda was divided into zones representing the four elements - earth, wind, water and fire. Each designer was asked to choose the element they feel personally closest to. It was a laboratory where new things could be tried. The boundaries - the central theme of fashion and cinema combined with the internal structure of the elements - have been boundaries that each designer has both worked with and expanded. scan from photo magazine, edizione italia “le visioni di vincent peters”, biennale di firenze (1998)
